"A breath-taking, fascinating and a captivating island"
Camotes Islands is a group of islands in the Camotes Sea, Philippines. The island group is located east of Cebu Island, southwest of Leyte Island, and north of Bohol Island.
Last May 20 2016, my family and I visited this wonderful island together with my mom's office mates. Later that night around 8pm, we arrived. Out trip going to our first beach resort destination was different. I expected the place to be crowded, busy and and an eye-catching one but what I've seen was completely the opposite. Literally. It wasn't too crowded, it wasn't too busy and the night wasn't eye-catching at all.
If you have seen the famous series entitled Game of Thrones, there's this one line that Lady Melisandre usually utter, that "The night is dark and is full of terrors" This line instantly pops out of my head. Honestly, going to the resort, we felt isolated because seriously, there were no lamps along the roads and definitely it was really dark that only our car's lights were our source of.......light (!!!?).
At first, we asked a motorcycle driver to guide us on our way to Mangodlong Beach Resort, but nobody volunteered. They just give us directions on where it could be. It was an easy direction though. (To just straight ahead and observe the right) Now we already know why they won't accompany us. (haha) We were kinda scared on this drive because of course it was totally dark and silent. So we somewhat assume that there'll be horrific situation that will happen to us or someone will block us along the way. Luckily, there was no one and nobody. We almost traveled on the wrong path since there was no one to ask along so we just follow our wild guesses.
Manglodlong Beach Resort
This resort was definitely a good one. The environment was excellent and the view was so perfect!!!!!! We had our dinner in this resort and stayed here for a night. Our travel was definately paid off!

Soooo yeah, this resort is a must when you visit this place. Anyways, you can just visit the beach. It is public though. Open for everyone just like Boracay. It is just that there are some resorts around here. So if you're not from this island, I prefer that you'll check in a resort. This resort that we visitd though was a good one. Santiago Resort.
Our trip going back to Cebu was 5pm. We arrived at the port around 3pm. I was kinda bored since I'm not a "waiting person" and I think everything's not enough (haha). I saw this board with a Paraiso Cave sign w/ a picture on it and so I pointed it out to my mom and her office mated. They wanted to go there too for more experience and there are I think a lot of caves here in Camotes. We went there as soon as possible since it is more closer to the port than the other caves. (Haha)

(Me! HAHAHAHAH)
As you can see, that's me!!!! There were other foreigners who were in this cave. Korean I think. The water is ultramega cold. But you'll get used to it after many minutes. I'm the only one together with our group who had the chance to swim in here because I wanted so! I insisted so much!!!! To tell you frankly, I haven't paid the swimming fee which is 10 pesos. Hahah. What I did afterwards was I changed to my dry clothes (except my inner ones since I left it in the car) and covered my hair like I'm Mother Mary and pretended that I hadn't gone to swimming. I was so soaked afterwards but I didn't changed still when we were on the ship already. I got dry and yeah, I never changed haha.
ALL IN ALL, IT WAS A WONDERFUL TRIP. I've get to see other views, experience calmness and breathe more fresh air. I'll definitely go back in here. But not travelling on night time! DEFINITELY!
Thanks for dropping by!

Curious about the rates there? Or going there?
Going there:
Go to Danao City Port. It is all the way to the Northern Part of Cebu.
The trip to Camotes is around 180 pesos. (by that moment) And going back is also 180 pesos.
To Mangodlong Beach Resort:
- With cars, just straight ahead and watch over your right side. (You can see a mini billboard that indicates the resort. Just look for it.) So turn right then straight ahead again.
- No cars? Ride over a motorcycle. Haven't asked for the fee but I think they'll ask for more. Eh. JUST DON'T TRAVEL BY NIGHT!!! You don't know the driver!! And there are lots of trees alongside plus no lights!!
To Santiago Beach:
-With cars: Turn left! Then straight ahead. Watch over your right.
- No cars? Motorcycle again or there are mini jeepneys by the port. But they are most preferable by groups. Meaning, you'll rent them.
BY THE WAY, YOU CAN RENT THE MINI JEEPNEYS FOR A MINIMUM OF 2,500 PESOS AND YOU CAN TRIP AROUND THE WHOLE CAMOTES ISLAND AND VISIT THE TOURIST SPOTS.
